In collaboration with Christine Sun Kim, Asian-American Deaf artist based in Berlin, we created deafpower.me, a platform to distribute and promote the symbol <0/ which encapsulates the history, languages and values of Deaf communities all over the world. As both sign and symbol, it spreads our cultural pride. Our identity is widely diverse and Deaf Power can be used by you to reflect this diversity. Being an open-source symbol, we encourage its application both within and beyond the Deaf community.
The symbol can be used by you for anything.
Ravi lives and works in Naarm (Melbourne, Australia), on lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people. Ravi acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land and pays respects to Elders – past, present and emerging. Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people have nurtured this land, its waterways and community for more than 65,000 years and continue to do so today. Ravi pays the rent and you should too.
